I knowingly took a U turn in a place where I should not have and a cop caught me. In this situation - I have no idea what the cops can fine me - nor have I any idea of whether they can confiscate my license and make me do rounds of the court.
This resulted in me paying him a bribe to escape all the crazy formalities that we usually see in our court system and took the easy way out.
If I was aware of the rules - and I knew I could pay a fine and not get my license suspended or confiscated - I would not have paid a bribe.
