I am in process of getting my work visa. I had to visit the government hospital to get my medical check up done. Once the tests were complete I needed to get a final certificate from the doctor. Doctor informed me that if i pay him Rs.2000 this can be done. I informed him that I have already got all the test done so needed him to give me the final certificate. He told me that I would have to pay him and then take the certificate. Since i needed this on priotity I had to agree. I negotiated with him and brought this down to Rs.1800. He took the money and gave me the certificate. What shocked me the most is that he told me that I need not have done any of the tests I should have just come to him directly and got the certificate as what ever cost he determined. Such practices exist and regular people have to surcumb to them because the whole system is corrupt. If we do not oblige to these request we end up not getting our work done. Sad but true.
