Misery of 2 wheeler owners on Bangalore roads
- Police
- Traffic Violations
- Paid INR 1,000
I have faced and seen this so many times in Bangalore and ended up paying bribes, especially if you have a 2 wheeler.
Doesn't matter if you break a traffic signal or not, you will be asked to pull out . Cop takes the keys and license first and asks you for all papers documents and his only mission is to find something missing and rob you in the broad day light.
In the ever changing traffic layouts in Bangalore, most of the time we end up not noticing a small board placed in the corner of the traffic signal and this enables the traffic police to demand how much ever they want
Usually at the traffic signals, you see one person comfortably sitting on a chair in Bangalore. He is called the "OFFICER" incharge. If you are pulled over, then that’s it. COP presents you with endless list including but not limited to vehicle papers, headlights, sticker on a headlight and the list goes on…
Then asks your profession. If you are an IT engineer, then you made his day.
Asks you to pay up bribe that varies from person to person. If you refuse, you will be directed to the “officer” in the chair and he threatens to write a ticket for thousands of Rs.
what would anyone do at the end of the day but payup the bribe
