I was driving in one of the main areas of the city called Banjara Hills when I received a phone call. My car was coming to still at a crossing when the lights turned red. I took the call while i was applying my breaks and the cop asked me to come to the road side. He asked me for vehicle papers and licence which I produced. He said mobile driving offence for which I demanded him for a challan for which he was hesitant. On me insisting he said his boss is just round the corner and faked in front of me on his walkie talkie as if she called him to the place i was. For the next 10 mins there was no one. I asked him where his boss (SI) was, he said he is just round the corner and the challan book was with him. I said I don't mind waiting for him to come. The corner he has been explaining for so long was a minute away n no one came for the next 10 min too. I asked him where was the so called SI? He then said, "Madam, why do you want to wait, we are also working under the sun, Juice ke liye paise dedo (Give me some money for a glass of cold juice)". My friends who I was travelling with at that time said he is just going to delay and no one is going to come and it was better for us to leave. My friend paid 50RS where the challan prices was 500Rs which I was ready to pay n left. Hence, my mobile driving saved me 450RS.
