Many people for making their passport hire a 'Passport Agent', who does all the formalities of documentation, stand in line to submit, and check if it is done. For all these services he charges some amount, which includes passport fees plus 'his' fees and add bribe money, which he frankly admits he has to give to police of respective police station.
After listening to this procedure, I decided to do all this by myself and will not hire any agent. So, as I went to my area's police station for verification of my documents, the officer did all the formalities, and after completing all formalities some other officer comes and asks for the bribe. So I explained him everything that I'm against this and for that I not even had hired any agent for this task and I won't give any. Then he(the other officer) said these documents needs to go forward to clear your documentation procedure, and this our(his) extra efforts, and as we are in the same area, we need to see the future also. So, I had to give him. And I did.
