Non-Availability of Bike Paper

Reported on September 13, 2016 from Chennai , Tamil Nadu  ι Report #122424

Hi,

I was standing with one of my friend near his flat with my Bike. suddenly one police vehicle came and asked me such a silly question like why are standing here with girls, where are you working etc. its a good colony and she is my good friend. After that they said that this is violation of EPC code, I asked him what is EPC they did not tell.

Then they asked me about Bike Paper I told this is not my bike I have DL and this is my friend's bike and I don't have bike paper right now. I know I have violated rules and I was ready to pay challan. I went with one constable to nearest ATM to withdraw 1500 Rs. to pay as challan.

Once I came back they told me that park your Bike give me Bike Key and sit inside the Police vehicle. I did what they said. I was inside and I asked for Challan then 3rd policeman suddenly told me If We don't issue challan it is issued by Police station and it takes generally 2-3 days because tomorrow is Bakar-Id holiday will be there in chennai. I clearly told it is right sir I can wait for 3 days days even 5 days but if you are not giving me challan receipt i am not going to pay anything. Hearing the same statement, one of the policeman got angry and started saying something in Tamil even I was not able to understand.
He told me that give me 1000 Rs and take your bike else leave bike here and go. I was also bit irritated with them because they don't understand Hindi and English. I was aware that they need money and I told clearly If you want money alone without giving receipt then I can give 500Rs only.

Even inside the Police Car they took 500 Rs from me and told me to take your Bike and go.

this is what happens in Nowadays. Even I was ready to pay fine as I did mistake, Police does not accept fine at all. They all wanted to make money.

I don't know the name of Police but they are from Porur Police Station (opposite to Anjappar Restaurant) Mount Ponnamalle Road.

Thanks
