We were travelling back from munnar thru chinnar forest area and we were stopped at anamalai tiger reserve check post. Officer checked our luggage and found less than 500 ml whiskey left over of previous day and threatened us to pay 10000 inr and we will have to stay back till next day morning. This incident happened on 3rd August, 2017 at around 7.30pm. None of us was drinking or was intoxicated. But still officer Sivakumar at anamalai check post threatened us. Finally we paid inr 3000 without receipt. Is carrying a 500ml of alcohol illegal? Can we report this to concerned department?
