Paid 4000 in bribe in Kothrud Police Station for Passport Verification

I was living with at my cousins home for over 3 years and wanted my passport done urgently as I had to go onsite. Since I did not have any local address proof other than the bank statement, the police officer threatened me by saying he will send a negative report about my passport and I will be stopped at immigration if I try to leave India.
I got scared and gave him the bribe he asked for. I felt very bad for paying up when I had done nothing illegal so thought of reporting it here.
Ever since that day I hate police officers, whether it is the traffic police or the guys in khaki.
