Paid a bribe to get licence.

Reported on May 10, 2011 from Pune , Maharashtra  ι Report #8682

I was talking on my mobile phone while riding on my bike. Was caught and asked to pay a fine of 600(100 for talking on the phone and 500 for rash driving). The licence was kept by the traffic policeman on the spot, and i was issued a L-TEM. He asked me to pay the fine at the nearest traffic police station. At the nearest traffic police station the policeman asked for a bribe to return the licence. He told me that otherwise my licence would be suspended, and that i would have to collect it from Mumbai RTO (as my licence was issued by Mumbai RTO). I don't really know what happens after the licence is taken and an L-TEM issued. He had the suspension form in his hand.
Anyways... i paid a total of Rs. 900. 600 for the fine and 300 for the bribe.

900 rupees for talking on the phone!!
Will never do that again.
