This incident happened at Telugu ********** flyover near the AP Secretariat. At the traffic signal, when i was just about to cross the line the signal turned yellow. So i had to hit the brakes, and a screeching sound came from my car. The traffic police came rushing towards us and sat in the car asking to park it aside. He was threatening to book a case under rash driving and seize the car for a month. On asking how was it rash driving, he says the public are all complaining abt my driving. We said that we stopped before the line and no one was behind or in front of us to have got hurt. But he was very blunt and asking for 1000rs. which we didn't have. On requesting for over half an hour he takes 150rs. and leaves the car. Felt really helpless for paying bribe even when i did nothing wrong. Some measure has to be taken on this issue. Because the police are using the "rash driving" reason for threatening.
