I paid a bribe for a passport enquiry officer. i heard the procedure for enquiry is the officer himself must come and visit us for the enquiry. but to my surprise he called me and asked (felt like demanding) to bring 600 rupees and also mentioned the location of his choice. 600 rupees may be small amount but everyday there are around 15 to 20 persons like me paying 600. i had reported the same to central passport office through e-mail. as usual there is no response.
after 4 months i got my passport and i saw that my father's name was wrongly spelt. i visited the passport office in secunderabad. they asked me to visit the next day and collect the scaned copies of the proofs i submitted. on the next day i have shown them that my father's name is provided corretly in the proofs and still it was wrongly spelt in the passport. they simply said it was not our mistake and asked to question the person who enquired you past 4 months. then they asked me to pay 300 and said that they will fix that on the spot. but this time i said NO and i again paid 1000 rupees and applied for fresh passport.
even paying bribe couldn't saved me.
