Paid bribe with old 500 notes

During property purchase and registration, my lawyer asked me to pay the bribe otherwise the registration can get delayed.
I don't know the name or designation of the officer, but they took me to the adjacent room where I paid the bribe.
I also had to pay a few hundreds extra to the typist and the document scanning person.

I'm a hard working tax paying citizen; my friends and I can't get this work done without paying bribes.
