Paid the police 5000 for bailing out a friend who was illegally detained

Me and a friend of mine were at ********** last Sunday and had just had dinner around 9.30pm from a hotel in 5 Roads in **********.

A third friend of us were walking ahead and near the 5 roads signal an anonymous person comes and slaps him hard for no reason apparently.

We were still crossing the road and ran across to him. My friend who was with me gave a tight slap across the anonymous person for abusing our friend for no reason and was about to ask him why he slapped our friend for no reason.

However, at this point, this person waves across to two policemen nearby and yelled at them to come over. It looked like this person was somebody with a lot of clout in the police. The police took both my friends and pushed them into a police van and took them away while I ran off at that moment.

Later when we gathered some local people and reached the police station at Attayampetti (in **********).

The cops had apparently beaten up both my friends and the anonymous person too simply walked into the police station and beat them up with the police watching.

We were told to pay 5000 Rs and on paying the money (without any receipt or case), my friends were asked to leave. They made a passing remark that my friend had commented on some girl and the girl had lodged a case (which is impossible because we were seeing the whole scene as it happened))

We have no evidence to show for the incident and this is gross misuse of power by the policemen in **********.
