I was travelling to my home town in Kerala on 22/05/2010 through the Bangalore - Mysore state road in my car. At Mandya, at a cross near to the East Police Station, a traffic police man shown the signal to stop the vehicle to allow other vehicle to and people to cross the road. I have stopped the vehicle. Suddenly a private bus which was coming behind my car bumped in to my 1 day old Estilo car.I became very sad...The police people took both my car and the private bus to the police station. They were asking me whether to file a case or settle the issue for Rs.5000/-. I told I would like to file a case. The police officer told me the bus has on the way to a marriage trip and I am releasing the bus. He told the bus will come to the police station after the marriage trip. The writter of the Mandya east police station asked money to prepare FIR and I am forced to give Rs 100/- to him.He told Monday only it will be ready. We waited two days : Saturday and Sunday at Mandya. Monday he told RTO inspection also shoul dbe there and go and ********** the MVI with one of the police officer.If it is through the traffic police they will ask Rs 500/- only ( This amount is because I am from a different state. But my vehicle is of Karnataka registartion only!!!) Other wice they will ask more. I went to RTO and one person in civil dress came along with me in an Auto as per the direction from MVI.He carried a camera and took photos of my car. He was taking photos of other vehicles met with accident,which was there in the police station. He has given me a fitness certificate, and asked to pay the bribe.He looted me with Rs 700/- because of language racism. ( Bribe amount also change based on your language in Karnataka!!!) He forced me to pay to and fro auto charges too, even though he had took photo graphs ofm other cases also!!!by bad...After this the police SI Puttaswamy told me to pay some amount to the police also, I have managed to pay Rs 300/-. Aftre that some polce people were asking me to pay the watchmen constables, as they look aftre my car through out the night!!!I tried to pay Rs.50/-. They were not happy with lesser amount, so didn't accept....This is a real incident happend last year...I am proud that my home state is less corrupted and would like to see less/no corruption through put *******
