This is to make people aware of the happening at chatushrungi police station, Pune, regarding police verification for passport application.
Police are asking to publish an additional Noc from the owner of the house incase the applicant is a tenant.
The Noc should state that the owner doesn't have any object about the tenant making a passport at his address.
There is no information of this requirement from passport office while applying for a passport though
The problem with this Noc is that in most cases or at least in my case, my owner stays abroad and it's not possible for us to get an Noc from him within the next couple of days.
Police have informed that they cannot hold the passport verification longer than two days else my file would be rejected.
Also to note I did have a registered rent agreement and it had my owners number email address etc if they have to check for objection.
When I asked if any other documents would do instead of an Noc, I was informed THAT IT'S A Must.
On further queries I realised that only other document is money and I have paid it as I could take the chance of getting my passport application rejected.
Dear police, if the Noc is mandatory how are you approving the police verification after taking money?
This the message from police to bring Noc
And on reaching police station we are informed to bring NOC within two days or our passport application would be reset.
Pls be present at Chaturshrungi Police Station for ur Passport Verification on 28/03/19 between 11:00 am to 12:00 pm B with ur Aadhar Crd,Pmc Tax Or Index-2 Paper,OR Allotment Letter(IF GOVERNMENT QTRS)
Reg.Rent Agreement with OWNERS NOC(If Tenant),New Light bill,Old Pasport Copy,Birth Proof,( Leaving certificate or OR Birth certificate) Educational documents,
All Original & Xerox. In case of REISSUE PASSPORT POST VERIFICATION IS COMPULSORY.
I hope the complaint reaches the correct people so that the rules created like the this are shown while applying for the passport itself and there cannot be separate documents necessary for each department.
