Saturday, 15 July 2017, about 8.00pm - Oyamari cremeation ground, Tiruchirapalli.

It was the death day of our grand-uncle A.V.Pitchumai - father of my erstwhile colleague
Dr.Hemalatha Thiagarajan. Since there was no help I accompanied Dr.K.Thiagarajan (son-in-law of Pitchumani) to the Oyamari electric crematorium. The procedure followed we were told is that we need to pay a bribe of INR500.00 - we had no option Thiagarajan had to pay the bribe to get the ashes amidst very-low-vulgar talks. There were at least eight other names, in the evening, written on the white-marker-display board.
