Army Welfare Co-operative Housing Society, Salunke Vihar Pune is inhabited by serving and retired army, navy and air force officers. The buidings do not have lifts so several blocks have decided to construct a lift by collecting funds from owners. The contractor informed us that to get the drawings approved from PMC (Pune Municipal Corporation)there would be a charge to be paid to various officers in PMC. All buildings with the approval had paid the charge amounting to Rs 21,000. Approximately 20 buildings have applied for the lift. The commencement certificate was received signed by the building nspector and countersigned by the Assistant Engineer PMC after the amount was paid in addition to the regular fees for which a receipt was given.
