Police Verification - Rs 500 per person

Today again the police verification officer came to verify my mother's passport. Please note yesterday police officer did verification for my Father and he demand a fixed rate of Rs 500. The comment given is this 500 goes and shared among the officers (corrupt officers). So which means it includes, Inspector, SP, SSP etc all and everyone.
