I was forced to pay the bribe of Rs. 600 for "processing" my passport application at Chandkheda police station, Ahmedabad. The police officer said that he needs to get the signature of higher officials and the application needs to be processed. I said okay and began to leave. He asked me to sit and said, "aap toh jaante hein ho.. 600 hota hn!"

I had no choice but pay the fees as I was in urgent need of passport.
