Dear Sir,
We would like to draw your kind attention with regard to the case of extreme harassment by BBMP officials of Bommanhalli, Bangalore for not paying the bribe amount for display of our institute’s board.
We had put our institutes’ board in month of July 2009 well within our premises located at Bennerghatta Main Road. Later on we approached BBMP office of Bommanhalli on July 13, 2010 to display our board outside our boundary for admission to our institute. We were forced to pay Rs 6000 as bribe to get permission for the same.
Since we were unaware of the rules, we enquired whether any official permission is required for the Name board of our institute of size 10’X 12’ (Approx.3mX4m) located well within our boundary. Again we were forced to pay bribe of Rs 9000 but permission was given for small sized board of 3’X2’ size only.
Thereafter the harassment has continued and every week BBMP staff of Bommanhalli visited our campus and openly demanded bribe. From last two months they started demanding bribe for others’ boards in our campus. At last, a week back we were informed by them that one official named ...................... Bommanhalli office of BBMP can finally settle the issue if we visit him and pay the bribe. Meanwhile when we were mentally preparing ourselves to take up the issue with higher officials of BBMP, at 3:30 PM on June 28, 2011 the BBMP staff without any legal notice or prior intimation, ransacked our premises and dislodged our board by trespassing our premises.
We hereby request your kind self to kindly make arrangement to conduct enquiry into the brazen and blatant misuse of the power by BBMP staff and officials by targeting only our institute.
Due to their illegal act of removing our board we have incurred heavy loss by tarnishing our brand image and destroying our goodwill and reputation.
