I was driving from Industrial area phase-1 Chandigarh to Delhi with my family. I was stopped by a traffic constable (WHITE UNIFORM) and he asked for DL and RC, i produced both the documents. then he said that he will confiscate my vehicle and i have to come to Chandigarh court for settlement as my family had put a NEWSPAPER to cover the windows and this is a serious offense. Then as usual he took me to a small tin cubicle and started negotiating by saying that the fine is for RS 3000 and i can settle for 1500. After some negotiation i paid Rs1000 and he made a sign on my right hand palm and said that if my vehicle is stopped again i have to show this sign and i will not be harassed.
This is a mafia who is surviving on vehicles of other states and they know that people will not like to travel again from Delhi to Chandigarh if their vehicle or documents are seized and they corrupt police officials go Scot free.
