Rs 5000 bribe at Koramangala Subregistrar office

Reported on May 30, 2015 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #61439

There is too much focus on the govt officials, whereas the lawyers and staff from builders office are not at all held responsible. It is the lawyers and the staff from builder's office who "facilitate" registration process and in the guise of providing efficient and quick service, demand additional expenses (or "legal expense) which is corporate word for bribe.
The govt officials may ask for bribe but once they realize you are not keen they back off.
In my case that is what I observed, but, my lawyer said that I should pay bribe otherwise govt officials will mark him(the lawyer) and will cause problems next time. I had to pay Rs 5000 bribe.
This forum should also highlight the "hand in glove" relation of lawyers and other middlemen also.
