It was my first experience "what is Bribe". I said "Pranam" to the dealing clerk, but he did not answer, he gave a small book of ********** without raising his head. I took it with respect & returned him back. I repeated namaste many times but he did not look towards him. I was just standing out side of his room, a friend of mine knew every thing & laughed at me, he advised to keep 100 rupees in that Holy book and my work will be done. I did the same, clerk raised his head and said -unnecessary uou people spoiled both's time, he offered me a chair, took out my file, wrote notes on that, called Peon, I paid Rs 10/- to the Peon. File was sent inside the officer's chamber. After half an hour I was called inside and without any if & but I was asked Rs 10000/- to get the right work done, only two days was given to arrange the money. I had no option, for last 6 months I was not getting & my family two small school going children were almost hand to mouth. Mony was arranged by my father's friend. As per instruction early in the morning at 4.30 AM I went to the officer's Govt quater, he was waiting for me. He took me inside his drawing room, gave me a cup of tea, he was talking as if he is my best well wisher. After taking Rs 10000/-, he immediately gave me the order paper. He said don't think that I am alone, I have to distribute it among other involved officer in my case. Now I am a retired man but this incidence made me expert to work done in Govt offices. But truly speaking it hurts me.
