Tehsildaar's across punjab charges a hefty 1% of the price of property. It is well known to everyone and people suggest it goes upto the ministers. So no-one from govt will help but harass you. They don't give any clear guideline to say these are the documents that are needed for registration. If you pay them then everything is fine and if you don't then they will keep asking one or other document to harass you. You will keep on going in rounds, wasting your time to get things done and provide required papers.
This is horrible and no one do a sting operation as well. Everyone involved shall be punished but there is no system to punish them because its a Rotten system.
