For registering a newly purchased vehicle with Pune RTO, I needed to provide an police approved tenant verification form since I did not own a flat in Pune.

Even though the tenant verification is a process set by the police to have information on the people living in Pune ( in the wake of terrorist activities ), they are charging for it as if they are doing a service to the people living in the city.

Additionally, the tenants who responsibly approach the police to get this verification are hassled by them. Hence, most of the citizens skip this process & the police remains ignorant of the people coming into the city, including terrorists.
