I had a traffic police officer come up and take the keys out of my motorcycle at a red light, after noticing that I had an out-of-state license plate. They asked me to take my helmet off (in the middle of traffic) at which point they could notice I wasn't a local. They then demanded $50 before I could get the keys back, claiming I needed to change the license plate, and that my *international* license was not valid in India. I was *travelling* through the city for a few days. Ridiculous.
