I needed a fitness certificate for a job i got in central government. I had to run around more than a dozen time firstly because i was not aware how these things work as i had never gone to a government office for any documents etc. and secondly, i refused to pay a bribe. After months of running around the Medical Records Department of Osmania General Hospital in Afzalganj and getting all medical tests done, twice by paying Rs. 170 in form of a receipt, I was asked to pay Rs. 600 by Mr. Shyam Sunder, Mr. Bhaskar, Mr. Satyanarayana and Mr. Abdul Sarvar without any receipt. Later i learned, that a friend of mine, who knew about my experience, paid Rs. 600 to a security guard at the hospital entrance itself and got his fitness certificate without any tests done within an hour.
