The officers in the Vehicle transport booking office are not at all helpful if u want to book the vehicle without agents help.If you book with with agent's help ( agent will demand 500- 800 ruppees for booking - the agent should have tie up with the officers), the officer does not do any check ( they not even check the presence/absence of petrol in vehicle ). If you try booking without agent, your vehicle may not be sent at all at the right date( causing delay in arrival of the vehicle in destination region and hence causing you to pay fine at the receiving end.). The officer would suggest to pay loadman money (100) . There are untold grievance stories every day during every booking.
