On my regular day at office i received a call at 12:30 PM from police station of my sector. The guy on other side said "Jee aapki inquiry aayi hai passport ki" . He asked me to come with certain documents to the police station. I did the same . He started the verification , all the documents were OK . He wrote a letter in his own hand writing and asked me to get it verified by my landlord and some other person living in the same sector (not on rent). When i was leaving he said "aur fess bhi leke aana" . I asked kitni...He said "aao phir baat karte hain". I got the signatures he verified them and said "OK ho gaya aapka kaam" . Showing my gratitude i said "thankyou " and got the expected reply "Thankyou se nahi hoga fees lagegi". I obviously resisted , said "Fees ki to receipt milegi?" he replied "Raseed hume 15 din baad milti hai SSP daftar se.Main apne photostat nikal ke lata hoon,apni bike ka tel chod ke ssp daftar se ye verification ke paper lata hoon , agar main tere ghar aata verification ke liye to mera tel lagta . MAIN APNE BACHO KO LEKE KAHAN JAAON" . I was so pissed off , the guy was expecting me to fulfill his personal needs through bribe . I mean it was not my first experience but bribe in the name of family was disgusting . I was a bit confident because my documents were complete but still i got scared when he showed me a document saying Rs 100 is passport verification fees and said that he would not pass my file . So i paid Rs110 as bribe .
