CEO Mysore Zilla Panchayat ensures that a complainant on IPaidABribe receives a khata transfer

Reported on October 09, 2017 from Mysore, Karnataka  ι Report #23

Stamps and Registration process has long been under the bribery scanner of IPaidAbribe. Recently we got to know how much it is also influenced by status and posistion

T M Anantha Krishna from Deepa Housing Society, Mysore applied for khata transfer of his site to the housing society, and even paid the requisite fees to them. However, he did not receive any acknowledgement from his society as his papers and documental evidences had been submitted to the Vice President of the Gram Panchayat (GP) for processing. The GP had not given any acknowledgement of having received the application.

After the stipulated time of 45 days had passed, Mr Krishna sent complaints to the Prime Minister’s and Chief Minister’s Offices, the Anti-Corruption Bureau as well as Sakala, but to no avail. He finally lodged a complaint on IPaidABribe in December, 2016 which was subsequently taken up by Dr. Malati Das, Chief Advisor to IPaidAaBribe; who forwarded the complaint to the CEO of Mysore Zilla Panchayat. After three reminders and more than 8 months later, the Zilla Panchayat finally reverted that Mr Krishna’s khata transfer had been approved and he had been informed about this, and a scanned copy of the khata document had been sent to him. When the IPaidABribe team contacted Mr. Krishna, he mentioned that he had formerly held the position of Director-Administration for the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi; and had used this influence to finally get his khata transfer approved. However, he praised ventures like IPaidABribe which are ensuring public disclosures from Government organizations and making them more accountable to redressing citizens’ grievances.
