With what moral authority can a teacher instruct students not to adopt unethical methods in life when the individual has paid his or her way to the job.
One of our respondents from New Delhi paid Rs. 8 lakhs to the Education department to get a job as a teacher in a school run by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. He writes thus: Only people who pay bribe get selected as a teacher, else the name does not come in the list. An irate individual from Agra reported on our portal that the job recruitment sector of the education department charged Rs. 41,500 from aspiring computer teachers. No one knows where the money later.
Rackets related to the education sector are now getting exposed. The Headmaster of an elementary school in Chettunnapadu (in Andhra Pradesh) was convicted in a racket case recently. In February this year, Delhi police arrested six teachers on the charge of using fake appointment letters.
