How to change address in a Driving License in Bangalore

Criteria: Existing Drivers License.

Process flow

• Applicants holding a Driving License/learner’s license/conductor’s license desire for noting change of address must make an application on plain paper

• Along with said application one must submit an address proof as well.

• Change of address will be recorded in the respective Learner's License / Driving License / Conductor License.

• This will be delivered on the same day between 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm. (if issued in the same office.)

Documentation required:

Accepted for address proof -

• Ration Card

• Passport

• LIC Policy

• Electoral Roll

• Telephone Bill

• Electricity Bill

• Water Bill

• Caste Certificate (SC/ST, Backward Class and Minorties, etc.) and Income Certificate issued by Tahsildar.

• Pay slip issued by any office of the Central Government or a State Government or a Local body.

• Self swearing Affidavit by an applicant before an executive Magistrate or a First Class Judicial Magistrate or a Notary Public as evidence of age and address

• Proof of legal presence in India in addition to proof of residence in case of foreigners.

Do remember:

1. For effecting change of address in a PVC Driving License Card, a fee has to be paid at the RTO cash counter and the applicant himself has to be present for capturing a photograph.

2. In case of the driving license/conductor license issued by other licensing authorities, a change of address will be effected after 30 days, with due verification.
