When I had to get a name change effected in the records of TNEB, I approached one of my "FRIENDS" who is an employee of TNEB. He took the papers and said it would cost Rs. 1500/- as against the fee of Rs. 200/- !!!!!.
Since I am totally against paying bribes I took back the papers from him. I was told by one of my friends to approach the R S of Alwarpet Division, MS. S. GEETA, who is helpful and very honest too. I went in person to meet her. SHE IS UNBELIEVABLY COURTEOUS & HELPFUL and completed the job in 4 days flat!!!!
At a time when my own "friend" demanded extra payment for the job, it was a pleasant surprise to meet AN HONEST OFFICER WHO EVEN REFUSED TO TAKE A GIFT AS A TOKEN OF THANKS. It is, indeed, rare to find such staff in Govt. Depts. these days. THANK YOU Ms GEETA. GOD BLESS YOU.
Such honest officers should be rewarded in some way by the department so that others are encouraged to follow their foot-steps
