Bribe for police clearence

Sir/Madam,

I applied for passport (renewal third passport). One police constable came to my house, recorded all details and finally asked Rs. 500. I asked him why? He said every body giving and it is formality. Second time I got a job in private company who is working for ONGC. Ongc required a local police clearence to work in their oil fields. I went to District sp office, submitted my request. They send a police constable for enquiry, the police constable recorded all my details and asked Rs. 500 and also said pay Rs.500 to clerk in the pass port section in sp office, failing which i will not receve my clearence certificate in time. I did. No alternative.
