Bribe for police verification

Even though i attached proper address proof document, the passport verification file was not cleared for 6 months. Only after i went to the police station in person they asked me 200 Rs. Keeping in mind the delay it already caused and the ordeal it takes in terms of travel, time and money I paid the bribe.
