Bribed Police with 2 Rasogulla (Sweet) !

Reported on April 9, 2011 from Jamshedpur , Jharkhand  ι Report #9456

It happened on a hot summer afternoon, in 1998. I was studying at Visakhapatnam and was at Jamshedpur for the summer break.

While returning from the railway station after booking the ticket to go back to Visakhapatnam a cop (hawaldar) stopped me near the Tata Steel gate and asked for my license. I was not carrying one as I had left it at Visakhapatnam. He asked me to wait there and told me that Bade-Sahab (Inspector) will come in some time and decide my fate.

After waiting for a while he came and asked me for Rs. 20 and told me if Bade-Sahab comes he'll fine me Rs. 100.

I was neither scared of his 'Bade-Sahab' threat not willing to pay him Rs. 20 but wanted to get out of that place and the hot sun.

I told him I just spent all the money on booking the ticket and just have Rs. 2 in my pocket. He asked me to go. Then stopped me again and said 'aise ********** denge to sudhroge nahi .. chalo siphaijee to 2 meeta khilao ..' (Can't let you go just like that, treat me with some sweets'.

So I bought him 2 rasogulla (famous bengali sweet) from a road side sweet stall for Rs. 2 and got out of that place.

What's your reaction?
