Chandigarh Police Delhi Number Plate

Reported on May 9, 2013 from Chandigarh , Chandigarh  ι Report #34489

It's not the first time this has happened and it is a common open secret about the bias with Delhi registered car in Chandigarh. Has happened to me earlier as well and only way out is to pay.
This instance it was around 7 PM, had been driving for last 6 hours and Delhi was still 3-4 hours drive, a cop stopped us at a traffic junction, like other traffic on road. The. He just looks at the number plate, waves other traffic to move and pulls us aside asking for papers (which were in order), then he says that the front passenger is not wearing the seat belt. Which was funny to the extent that the person had taken the belt off to get up to step out to show papers. Surprisingly he never asked for my license, but said ay 600 for not wearing the belt!! Or you can stay here and argue and then maybe come to station!! Settlement INR 200.00

What's your reaction?
