I had applied for a new Domestic Driving License and after about 20 days, I got a call on 15 August 2014 from Bhrasht Nagar police station for verification of my identity . He asked me to come on 16th August and meet him to complete the process
I went to the police station at 4 pm on 16th August 2014 , with all my identification documents and met Sub -inspector Bhoop Singh. After looking at my documents he asked me to pay him Rs 1000. I asked him why was he asking me for money and told him that I had all the required documents in place for him to complete the process. His tone suddenly changed and he said 'if I don't sign, then you won't get your License'.
I told him that I didn't have Rs 1000 to pay him. In a very angry tone he asked me to show my wallet and how much money I had. I was scared and wanted to get the passport process done, since my company was planning to send me abroad in a week's time. I told him I had only Rs 500 with me. He asked me to give that to him, which I did. He signed some papers and asked me to leave. I got my License but the process left a bad taste for me. I was taken aback by the policeman's attitude and I request action to be taken against him.
