My Trip to India showed me that Customer service is not free ^_^

While my stay in India was culturally enriching, i have to say the Emirates associates both while entering and leaving the airport were nagging me to pay their dues, and for what ? Answering some questions like where is the nearest hotel, or can you assist my mother who is in a wheel chair go through the air port check in process.
I have to say they it was really shocking how a guy in suit who is a registered Emirates Employee with a tag and every thing would be asking me for a tip. Does basic customer service come with a price? I have to say this was the worst part of my entire visit. It is pretty shameful. But i assume such has to be expected from *******
