Police caught with Temporary number plate

I have bought my vehicle, a week ago, just 5 days old and I was driving inside city with temporary Number. I road my bike less than 100 KM, But police demanded money saying that I should not ride bike with temporary Number.
They were just standing there to get bribe from 2 wheelers. It was heavy traffic zone, But instead of clearing the traffic, they were taking bribe.
