Signal Jump & traffic polic demanded 1000 with out chalana

Today i am comming from Adyar and at madhya Kalish singal by over look i have crossed the signal after it is Red. I don't know how a traffic constable came in suddenly he stoped vechical and ask me to give licence and demanded to pay 1000/- other vise he ask me to handover my RC and licence and pay the fine at Court. As a common man human dendency i afried to go with court case and other stuff as i am afried of other procedure, then the constable asked me whether u want with chalana or with out chalana, he told with challane mean 1000 and with out chalance it is 300/- i opted for 300/-. this happend today at Madhya Kalish signal at 5:00 PM. This constable lease bother about the persons who crossed signal after he took 300 from me.
