Silence about my license
I had been to Vijayanagar Sub Registrar office to get my marriage certificate. The old lady who had the authority to issue it openly asked for bribe money. She infact factored the bribe money to official payment. I asked her will I get receipt for the entire payment and she said no. I told her I will not pay bribe and told her if she delays my work, I will talk to her superior. She got scared and I got my marriage certificate without paying bribe.
I have been in the US for 4 years now and I work with all the state departments across the State. What I have noticed is that there is absolutely no corruption and the reason is there is hardly any personal interaction with any department officials. The usual mode of interaction is through a call centre and all licences, application, tax payments is through automated systems from state administered website. The day we have this system in India 75% of corruption will be eliminated.
