Unfortunately, the BPL card issue process is so full of corruption. If you are in a village, please approach the Panchayat for including your name in the BPL list. Once the Gram Sabha approves your inclusion in the BPL, your name cannot be removed from it. It would also be useful if you could get in touch with a reputed NGO, which will be able to help you. As regards the ration cards, I don't think going to the Food department will be of any use, because most officials there are hand in glove with such shop owners. I would suggest that you go to the Lokayukta with your complaints.</p>
