I wanted to register my marriage and get a marriage certificate in 15 days as I had to get my wife's visa and travel outside the country. When we approached the taluk office in Udupi, the officials said it will take 1 month to get marriage certificate. Meanwhile the touts gathered and said they will get it done in 2 days but we will have to pay 10,000 rupees. I had no option but to get this done as my travel ********** was fixed. I paid 10K and got the certificate next day. But felt very bad about the whole thing.
Interesting thing was the officer was on ayyappa vrut, and looked like major devotee of ********** Ayyappa :)
