I went to the Erode Karungalpalaym sub-registrar's office to get my marriage certificate. Even after producing all the required documents, I was not given the marriage certificate. I was made to visit the sub-registrars office five times in a weeks time (I had to visit the office almost every day). Every time they gave me the reason that the "computer software" was not ready. But I saw many folks getting their certificates and pointed to them that how come others are getting their marriage certificate if it is not ready. The answer was that "your certificate is not ready". Then asked me to come after a week or ********** a document writer to see if he could do something with the computer problem. I went and met the document writer whose shop is just on the other side of the road. He said like they charged a fees of 1500 per certificate and if you need it in a day or two it will cost like couple of hundreds more. Finally he gave a quote of 1600 and told me that there is no way to get the certificate sooner. As I had already wasted a week, I paid the money, the bastards got me the certificate in 30 minutes.
