Amost Challaned for Transparent Safety "Black Screen" on my Car
New Delhi City has since some time now a very active Traffic Police Campaign to Challan Owners of Cars with Black Films. Some times Newspapers had statistics on the Number of Black Screens / Films taken down and Challans made that made me wondered how so many cars are still challaned having Black Screens when i hardly saw Cars with Black Screens around. Frankly speaking Please dont give much value to my such "general observations" as true as i have such a bad eyesight that i never noticed [see image - imresponsible.org/imr1.jpg] my own car had a "Black Screen" Violative of the Law of this Land. Read how..
I have a Black Santro which i as far as i remember never ever had any Black Screen but that was what i thought when i was flagged down by a Traffic Inspector immediately after i have crossed the Brijwasan IOC Underpass to Dwarka.
The Traffic Inspector said i was being fined for Black Screen and as shocked as i was, i demanded to known where it is. I thought he was scamming me in some way. Anyways, he asked me to open the Dicky (which in a Santro is alongwith the Rear Windshield) and i accompanied him back. He took out a regular Razor Blade and started Scratching the Back Inner Side of Rear View WindScreen and Completely Removed three Strips of Plastic Screen so Transparent that i never thought i had it in the first place. Now i remember my rear windscreen had three very narrow black vertical strips but i had not thought much about it and now i knew the black linings were where the Three Strips overlaped each other.
Now as he had pulled out a "Black Screen" the next step was obvious. He took out the Challan Book and asked for my Details. I knew this was very akeen to a Highway Robber. How could i be so wrong. I enquired that Screen had to had a Certain Transparency and not just any "Screen" on the Car Windshields. He showed some Photocopy of a Court Circular instruction for the same and i was to be robbed for sure in a very Legal way.
Then it striked me to bend down and pick the disposed Screen and put it my car [see it at imresponsible.org/imr2.jpg sorry No other Proof No names] . He resisted and almost stopped me said no no we have sweepers who will clean the road and you can leave the screen. Soon the screen was safe in my custody in my Cars Boot with the Dicky slam shut in place. Miraculously, his tone changed, He backed out, made excuses like how nice guy I was but they had to do a Job and that he had a good heart so he had no probs to let me go.
I really need help to nail such thugs in guise of legit officers. This is too much corruption to bear. Later on when i discussed with associates it seems the car manufacturer have some transparent screen to prevent the glass from free falling in and that Corrupt Traffic Inspector has actually made it unsafe Now.
The Art of Corruption is Perfected. The Art for taking a Stand on a Wrong Forgotten. Thankyou for letting me spread my little story. I am now determined to stop being a spectator as now the cumulative wrongs has started to make inroads in our day to day life. Example i am not really sure if my Daily take of Milk is a "Real Milk" or some chemical concoction capable of forming a creamy layer and converting into curd.
This Corrupt officers did not have his way with me but fact is this should not have happened in the first place.
