On highway at redlight by a traffic cop
On june 23rd i was returning from Agra to Delhi after spending a weekend over there with my family. I was driving a Innova with my family in. I was stopped by a traffic cop on a red light in the city and told that i had violated the traffic rules. when asked about what rule I have broken I was informed by traffic cop that my insurance cover was not uptodate and when confronted about this he claimed that my pollution certificate was fake. again i confronted him for this than he said that as i have put up a luggage carrier on my Innova I had to pay tax for Rs 1250/- otherwise vehicle will be impounded. when i asked him where that rule is written he told me that it will be explained by higher officials. After that he told me that u pay up Rs 1250 for violation , i said OK but where is reciept and to my amazement he told that he will endorse it on pollution certificate. I refused to pay bribe to him and insisted that if i have done anything wrong than he shud challan me and issue a receipt . When traffic cop got the hint that i am not going to pay anything he let me go after half an hour with the warning that he will not let me go off again...
