Lawyer or Bribe
Eight years ago, there was an accident in old Airport Road, it was a pure road rage incident and the hit-run accident happened at the signal. The driver at fault managed to speed away. We were advised by traffic police to not file a complaint as they will not be a witness for the accident - although it happened right in front of their eyes.
We still went to Airport police station to file the complaint and waited for 4 hours. No response without bribe, then one of the friends called his dad. The dad came to police station in a 'White' shirt and gave his visiting card to the SI. The complaint was registered, the vehicle tracked and so on.
I learned later (through one of the constables) that the 'driver at fault' was visited at home in the night (11:30) and asked to come to the station. Basically harassed, until he paid up ... pity really, there is no civil way of handling anything!
