I along with 3 of my friends had applied for a fresh passport from college. During the police verification at SP Office, District Dhanbad each of us were asked to pay Rs. 1000 per head in order to verify the documents, of which we clearly denied. They threatened us that they won't clear our names, but as one of our friend had already told us that they have to return the application within a week so we knew that he can't do anything.
Same happened when CID people came for verification, they asked for Rs. 200 per head. When we denied they looked at us like we are the criminals.
But unfortunately during verification for home address my father paid some money.
