We need to pay some property Tax to get marriage registered
Hi , I reside in Navi Mumbai - Kharghar. I have been trying to register my marriage past few months now as I am new to the place have tried several ways to get this registration process but has just lead me to disappointment.. I went to two advocate first to help me out as, I dint know the laws they said they will charge me 25,000/- 10,000/ - respectively. Then I tried going to panvel court for registration even there I hear the same... Then I was told I need to do it through kharghar Gram Panchayat, there the concerned person asked me we need to pay property tax since the time we have been residing in Kharghar.. when I asked what is property tax to do with marriage registration he said that's our fees.. Fees what for?? He said "Paise bharne hain toh aao warna time math waste karo humara".
I want someone to please help me out as to what can I do and how??
